Seas of Paradise

Setting

The Chosana Ocean is a dead ocean. Because of its high amount of carbon dioxide in the water, nothing survives there. It's all died off. If human falls in, the vortexes that are in the water will suck them in, no chance of getting out. While it is dotted with archipelagos, it is an easy trade route for experts.

Bonny sat accross from the crewman she'd laid out on the deck. He'd drank the salty sea and was now slowly loosing his grip on life. She'd tried to induce vommiting, but that apparently wasn't working. He was too dehydrated to do anything further. And there was no life in this part of the ocean to take him away if they tossed him overboard. It wasn't a practice she'd commonly preformed on those under her command, but it was hot, and she didn't need any carcus stinking up the ship.

She stook and put her head above deck where the rest of the crew was waiting for an answer; would Collin live or die? "Well lads," she told them, in a tone as salty as the sea itself. "It doesn't look good. Ole' Collin will probably be dead before dawn. He's lost a lot of his own fluid because of the salt." She piped up a little louder, in sort of a repromand. "Let this be a lesson to the lot of ye! If you drink the sea, ye'll die."

"But Cap'in Red, We're almost out of rum an' water. What'll we do until then?" A man stood before her, tan and gleaming in the fading light. The whole crew was down to their pants, no socks or boots. All except Bonny, who tried with great strength to keep herself covered, but ended up relenting and removing her cloak.

"We'll just have to make due with what we've got left. Take a quart intsead of a pint, and we'll just roast the food rather than boiling it. That'll mean that someone'll have to be down in the galley to watch the fire-" There was a groan from the crew. "I know, believe me, I know lads. But we'll survive this. We've been through a hell of a lot worse. We'll get through the desert."

"We're not too far off..." The Navigator, Will Farate chirped in. "Only a few hundred miles away from port... I think." Looks like daggers turned toward him, suggesting he'd better stop thinking and start knowing.

Felicia hated the Chosana Ocean. Hate, hate, hated it. She even for seafaring, ocean-hardened pirates like her crew and herself, she she found the salt air to be a damning factor. Not only was it annoying, it dried everyone out rather quickly and water was definitely something that was everywhere, but there truly was not a drop to drink. Manning the controls of her ship Felicia lay lazily on the wheel, the top part of her body sprawled out rather than standing as she let out a deep sigh. Disgruntled, salty and unable to see Corosav in the distance, she let out a rather unpleasant grunt.

"Mister Ryan!" she yelled from her position at the ships' control and within seconds a tall, athletically built man with a bandanna covering his shaved head and tanned skin rushed onto the deck.
"Yar, Cap'n!" yelled the man up to Felicia. Here eye trailed down towards the man, her uninterested countenance not lifting from her face.
"How much longer, Mister Ryan? Till we get to Corosav?" she said, moving her gaze forward once again towards the never-ending blue. The pirate lad sighed, and looked away from his captain for a moment.
"Well, from what the crow's nest says he still can't see it anywhere and according to the map we're still a way away. Maybe a day or two." he said, reluctantly, before remaking eye contact with Felicia's person.

Felicia sighed again, she knew what Ryan had said was true but she simply did not want to believe it. She used her hand to wave at Ryan in a way as if to say 'shoo, go away'. Mister Ryan then rushed back off to his post. With a crew of only ten, consisting of both men and women, she always kept her eye on everything on at all times. Such a low count of people in her crew meant that everything needed to be done right and done where and when it needed to be. She herself was always at the controls, able to overlook everything her crewmates were doing. One of the strangest things about the Iron Skulls was that Felicia had no true 'first mate', partly because she saw all her crewmates as 'equals' and partly because she didn't trust anyone enough to give them that much power. Power meant that loyalties would be split and the fact the Felicia always had her hands in everything on the ship made sure that no one truly was given the upper hand except for her. She wanted to always maintain control of her crew and not be left to die this time. Though, for now, she would simply sail these salty seas with her crew. Maybe make some dinner in a while. Either way, she still didn't like this sea. Not one bit.

"I think just for now, we'll establish some sort of trade building here, to get it started." Felicity said to the workers. They nodded in agreement.

"We need to get to Iba quickly before anyone else finds us." Felicity responded, with an expressionless face.

"Cap'n, we've got everything we need here to cross the Karona on this 'ere island!" Analeil said. Felicity had no idea what this was really about, but she decided it was best to go along with it.

"Get some people to gather some resources and take them onto the ship, we 'avnt got all day." Felicity yelled at her ship, with people still crying from Rhonda's death. Her crew spilled out of the baglah and came up to Felicity.

"There's a lot of resources here. Food, fresh water, and even some berries to make us a few cocktails onboard. Take a bask't 'er two, and take all this free loot!" she said. They nodded and seemed to run in a single-filed line to all of the plants and some went near the water to pick it up.

"Get as much as you can, girls, Chosana is not a fun thing to be in." She acknowledged. All of the yelling was making her nauseous, so she decided to sit down by the shore. The Karona was beautiful, and it was one of her favorite oceans. It was nearly flawless, except with the occasional shark. No wonder it was the most populated ocean. She hadn't realized how much time had passed by before they woke her from her daydreaming.

"Felicity, we've got a shit'load of resources!" Analeil chuckled. Felicity ascended back up quickly and went onboard to see what her girls had brought her. Various boxes of plants, and clean water was just about everywhere. She checked under and there was even more. Way more then enough to cross the Chosana, but of course, you could never know.

"Let's get sailing." she muttered. The boat began to turn around headed towards Eutarymn, where the Chosana was. She mindfully navigating, haven't nothing much else to do, with her eyes staring off into the horizon. Trudy, the woman in the crow's nest was trying to yell something. She adjusted her ears and heard her.

"We are about to enter the Chosana!" she yelled. Felicity gave a full-headed nod so she knew and turned to the rest of the crew, who was working hard.

"Word from our Trudy up there has spread, we are going to be entering Chosana soon. Please be prepared. Actually, that's an order. Be prepared, now." she corrected herself. They started to set up the boat specifically for sailing the Chosana. Quick and weak, because no fights really occured in the Chosana, because when a ship had plundered the other, theirs was already too damaged to try to escape. Besides, when one person boards the enemy ship, they throw off all their supplies while they can. As they sailed, she could notice a change in the water. The water was turning lighter, because of the carbon dioxide vents at the bottom of the ocean. The salty ocean was a disaster, and no one could drink it and survive. You don't want to drink it if you're dying. Hell, just stay away from it. Her crew seems to not have cared. The loyal bunch of unmarried women who loved eachother and their cap'n. Just the way she liked it.

After about an hour, she was exploring and testing out the many pre-made weapons of the blacksmith, when the man called him over.

"Hey you, 'er sword be done." he gloated, fanning out the hot new blade. It was a thin, but sturdy and strong rapier. He had customized it with her wants. Made out of the rare, powerful metal of the Resnatian desert. The hilt was unique, with a merely carved thumb area, where she tended to use her sword but she had to touch the blade. She swiped it a few times, and it was perfect. She payed her sum, and walked out of the blacksmith, and back up the steps of the Felicity returned to the palace, to see the King laying down in the bathtub with his arms around many of his crewmates.

"It's time to go, girls." she yelled. The King mad a nearly shocked face as they all lined up to leave.

"Well, I guess we'll see you guys again, I hope? Right?" The King asked.

"I'm not sure, King." she responded. They walked out the door and boarded the ship, to leave in the dead ocean waters. Once again, they were ready to attack Corosav.

"Sir they have raised a white flag, what are your orders?" The man in the crows nest asked. "Ready the anchor!" Damion ordered. The chain was unlatched and the giant anchor was released into the sea. "Captain are you sure, we know nothing about these pirates." The first mate asked. "Don't you dare question my orders, or I will make you swab the plank and we don't even have a plank!" Damion threatened. "Yes Sir! Sorry Sir." The first mate said while running back to his post. Damion began to remember the good times that he spent with Samos.

"I told you I would catch the biggest fish!" Samos bragged. "Yeah you win." Damion laughed. The large Navy ships were finally beginning to leave, nothing ever happens in our villages. Damion thought as he saw a Navy Frigate sail away from the shoreline. "Hey you did pretty good to." He reassured Damion. "Well thanks." Damion laughed. Damion arrived at his home and said goodbye to Samos. The dream turned into a nightmare and Damion saw mother murdered and his village burned down.

Damion shot back to attention when he saw a large white flag approaching. "Sir there ship is almost here! Should we load the cannons?" The man in the crows nest asked. "No, but ready the board walk!" He ordered as the ship pulled up. "I want no one to leave this ship, do you understand?" Damion ordered as he got on the wooden bridge. He strolled over to the ship and greeted his old friend, Samos.
